Johns Creek

Johns Creek lies along the banks of the Chattahoochee River and is home to an estimated population of nearly 77,000 residents. It is located 30 miles north of Atlanta, with convenient city access provided by Highway 141 and GA 400. It’s distance from the city allows residents to enjoy an active, yet relaxed lifestyle, with the economic growth and vibrant culture of Atlanta just a short drive away. With a strong public school system heavily supported by it’s residents, Johns Creek offers some of the best schools in the state. Several Fortune 500 companies have offices located in the master planned Johns Creek Technology Park. Incorporated on December 1st of 2006, Johns Creek is now the 10th largest city in Georgia and offers a variety of housing options.

Doraville

Doraville, Georgia was incorporated in 1871 as a small agricultural community that served the interests of larger, surrounding farming areas until the 1940’s. At the end of World War II, Doraville was selected by General Motors as the site for it’s new assembly plant and Doraville’s growth exploded in the 1940’s and 1950’s as a result. Doraville and neighboring Chamblee, offer a diverse community that straddles the I-285 perimeter. Doraville is an attractive option for Atlanta area residents due to it’s MARTA station, plans for a new town center and proximity to Buckhead and Downtown Atlanta.

Kennesaw

Kennesaw dates back to the construction of a Western and Atlantic Railroad line through Cobb County. The high point of that line is now the current crossing between the Chattahoochee and Etowah Rivers. In 1887, after recovery from the War Between the States was well underway, a petition was granted to incorporate the City of Kennesaw. In present day, the city has the lowest crime rate in Cobb County. Many citizens attribute this to the city law passed in 1982 that required “every head of household to maintain a firearm together with ammunition. Kennesaw’s economy has steadily grown since the 1980’s. The city is convenient to I-575 and I-75, provides an easy commute into the city, and offers it’s residents museums, community activities and recreational opportunities along with relatively low housing costs when compared to other Cobb County communities.

Woodstock

Woodstock is one of Cherokee County’s oldest towns. However, the city didn’t experience significant growth until the late 1980’s. Today, it is the fastest growing city in the county with a growth rate of over 70% in the last ten years. With I-575 and Highway 92 running diagonally and directly through Woodstock, there is unlimited potential for those who live in Woodstock to access employment and recreation. Large lots and a country feel can still be found in many of the housing communities throughout Woodstock, while convenience is not sacrificed. Generally, homeowners enjoy more square footage for their housing dollar compared to suburbs south of Cherokee County and Woodstock’s downtown area provides community activities and a small town feel. Those commuting to the city enjoy the convenience of I-575 while others can find employment in town, primarily in the Educational, Health, Social Services, Administrative, Retail Trade and Technology industries.
